July Firsts....many of them!

Playing with my "Big Buddy Brit" never gets old!  He likes to splash, put things in his mouth and be on-the-go as much as I do!  It was his and Liv's 1st birthday.  Man, I was scoping out the cake and I can hardly wait for my birthday to come because I know I won't leave a crumb behind.

I do have a thing for older women...that is unless things don't pan out with me and Liv.

Along with many firsts, it was Mason's first Royal City Community days.  Mama is getting off cheap, who's needs Disney Land-just a parade of loud trucks, tractors and Dain Craver throwing out apple slices!

And last but not least...the best first of the month was getting to meet my Nana!!!  We made the trip to Craigmont, Idaho and spent two days with her and Bud.

Pool Party

What a wonderful way to spend a Friday afternoon!
Us mothers, "The Real Housewives of Royal City" gathered at the Wardenaar pool for a little R & R!  It was the first swim date for many of the little ones and a success all around.

And like always.....my little nudest escaped his colony!

Boaters Certification 101

We got a new man behind the wheel!
He is fully insured, vaccinated and equipped with a social security card .....

Mason is still working on passing the Boaters Safety course;
he has a couple minor obstacles he must
overcome before he is granted certification.

1.  Must be able to reach pedals

2. Must keep both hands on the wheel at all times

3. Must keep eyes open and aware of other potential boaters

  4. Must wear clothes while operating device

5. Narcolepsy is Non-negotiable

Did I mention the lack of clothing???

Happy Fishing!

Spring Fair

Two weekends ago we took our little buddy to the Spring Fair in Moses Lake.  I am going to admit I was prematurely anticipating that Mason would be able to get to go on the rides...
(I was envisioning him sitting in Levi's lap, waving at Mama, gleaming in delight on the Merry-Go-Round)
Ummm, NOT so much!

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking but he just continued to "kick-it" in his stroller with his bottle.  Maybe next year he'll be a little more
"Fair Friendly".

But we did get to meet up with the cousins and it was great fun to watch them on the rides!

And when all else fails...play Carney Games!

We be "Blooming"

This past weekend was mine and Mason's very first Bloomsday, we were joined by Aunt Mack, Aunt Kaysee, Aunt Kelly and Kristen Dixon!  We loaded up in suburban bright and early Sunday morning and Grandma dumped us off to get registered.  We literally got to experience what the true definition of being "herded like cattle" felt like.

The start of the race was a little more then I was anticipating-start, stop, start, stop, run up on some unleashed kids ankles...it was pure madness everywhere.  As we really started moving I began looking at the spectators who were have mimosas for breakfast and it dawned on me; Who the hell am I trying to fool???  I would much rather be them!
Mason did great! He slept about 80% of the time and just enjoyed the scenery...no peeps from this Bloomer!

The stroller section really should be listed as the "Anything Goes" section.  I could take one look at the mom, then the stroller and know exactly if this was someone I should stay close behind too or pass in the wind!  I'm thinking about suggesting to the Bloomsday Committee that they should break-up this section into two groups; "Moms on a Mission" or "Leisurely Lost".

TOP 5 REASONS YOU KNOW YOU’RE IN THE SLOW GROUP
  1. Texting...I have no time to text while I'm pushing a stroller-move it or lose it!
  2. Leisurely strolling hand in hand, with your partner, GAZING into one another eyes!
  3. Wearing jean cut-offs and walking in flip flops
  4. Pulling a Red Radio Flyer Wagon, 5 deep, as the kids barrel off and on
  5. Chowing down on an Egg McMuff and begin choking all while still participating in the walk; with a Venti Frap in the other hand
All in all it was a great experience and I'll be doing it again.  BUT when the day comes and my kid wants to jump out of the stroller at every snow cone stand, hotdog booth, or medic tent to check out what color of band-aids they have HE WILL BE STAYING AT HOME!

Spring Fever

October 5
April 19

"Hey Dad it's been a while since we've last been out...."

"Gosh, I really hope the fish are biting this afternoon"

"If not, Mom packed me some snacks..."

"I better dig in and check out the goods"

"Dad, cast over there"

"That little thing?  I'm not impressed"

"Now that's more like it!"

"Thanks for the great day but I'm Tuckered OUT!"
